Community Outreach

Staff and Students participate in a number of promotional activities in churches in and around Mandeville so that members of the Adventist church can see the importance of choosing Christian Education.

Community Involvement

Victor Dixon High School seeks not only to educate its young people through the active integration of faith and learning but also endears them in community service.  This is done not only because it gives the school a positive community image, but also, but shows the school cannot truly survive without the community.

Among the school community involvement are the following:

1. Community Services Day: On a designated day the students and teachers visit several homes for the aged, children and nursing home to render selfless service to those in need and a variety of food baskets, toiletries and clothing have been presented.

2. Parents Teachers Conference -Each year we designate a special day when parents and guardians visit the school to have dialogue with teachers and administrators about their children/wards attitude to school and schooling and how we can work together for the improvement of each student.

Student Development – Religious Life

Victor Dixon High School as a Seventh-day Adventist Church-related Institution, maintains a rich and diversified programme of religious activities. Twice per year the students engage in one week of spiritual emphasis.  The school has a Chaplain who helps students to grow spiritually and to maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  The school also engages in scheduled days for Fasting and Prayer. There is also a Prayer room, where students and staff alike, when impressed go to have secret devotion.  This has proven beneficial and helpful over the years. There is also daily Bible Studies to prepare students for baptism.

The School entered the National Bible Quiz competition and emerged parish and county champions and participated in the finals in 2011 and were parish champions in 2012.
